The Royal Civil Service Commission would like to announce the details regarding the Main
Examination (Written examination) of the Bhutan Civil Service Examination 2024.

Examination date : October 3, 2024 – Paper I

October 4, 2024 – Paper II
October 5, 2024– Paper III

General Instruction

â–ª  Personal belongings, including mobile phones, EarPods, and Smartwatch shall NOT be allowed into the examination room. Therefore, candidates are requested not to bring such belongings. RCSC/invigilators shall not be responsible for any loss of such belongings.

â–ª The candidates are required to bring along the original Admission Card (which was issued during the document verification).

  • B.Sc Nursing graduates should bring a calculator (Fx 100 and below only)  for the Paper II examination, without fail
  • Other candidates may use a calculator (fx100 and below only) during the examination if felt required.

Selection and Placement

Selection and placement into the Civil Service shall be based on the following:

  1. Should obtain a minimum of 50% score in the Main Examination;
  2. Merit ranking of the Examination result,
  3. Availability of vacancy

If there is a <e-rank in the Main Examination result for a vacant position, the Written Examination score shall be taken into consideration to break the tie and subsequently by the Viva Voce score in case there is a need to further break the tie of the Written Examination score
